All of these are off until you turn them on, in Settings > General.

New-mail notifications

Notifications for new mail shows a Windows notification when new mail arrives. Each account's page also has Notifications for this account, so you can leave out an account. Show the sender and subject in notifications decides whether a notification shows them or only "New mail".

Notifications are made on this computer, from the IMAP sync and IDLE connection Komorebi already has: there is no push service, no cloud relay and no extra connection. A new account's first download never notifies, and neither does mail a rule files away or marks read.

There is also an opt-in taskbar flash when new mail arrives while the window is in the background.

Event reminders

Notifications for event reminders shows a Windows notification when an event's reminder is due, with its title, start time and place, never its notes. Reminders come from one timer in the app: nothing is scheduled with Windows, so they show only while Komorebi is open or in the notification area. A reminder missed by more than five minutes, because Komorebi was closed, stays a marker in the agenda. Clicking a reminder opens the Calendar.

Notification area

Keep running in the notification area when the window closes keeps Komorebi in the notification area when you close the window, so mail keeps arriving. Quit from the icon's menu. The menu's Pause notifications pauses new-mail notifications and event reminders.

Start with Windows

Start with Windows starts Komorebi in the notification area when you sign in to Windows. Turning it on writes one value, Komorebi, under HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, with the program's path and --minimized; turning it off removes it. The installer can also turn it on for you.
